vehicle titleOn the evening of Sunday, August 14, 2016, our services were called upon in which we witnessed the signatures for a South Carolina resident on the transfer of title of her vehicle to another party, a resident of North Carolina.

In most cases, a notary isn’t needed for such transactions.  However, in some states, the notary’s sworn statement is written on the title transfer section to be completed with stamp/seal.  When the title is void of this language, such with this case it is necessary to attach an Individual Acknowledgment. An individual Acknowledgment is a notarial form that verifies that a person or persons appeared before the notary or acknowledges that they did indeed sign said document.

This vehicle title transaction took place in Mauldin, SC.
